Thank you for your interest in participating in the 2010 Teachers Certification Workshop.
There are six (6) sections of the application that you will need to complete:
- Personal Information
- SAFD References
- Required Documents
- SPT Training Documentation
- Additional Training Documentation
- Recent Video Footage
At the beginning of each section, you will find information and requirements specific to completing that section. To make the process as smooth as possible, please review those instructions and requirements very carefully before you start the application. You will need to have all information and documentation ready and correctly formatted. At the end of the application submission you will be redirected to our online registration payment form. You may choose to pay your $30.00 non-refundable application fee by credit card using our secured checkout (preferred), or you may opt to send check or money order for that amount. Please note that your application will not be considered complete until this fee has been received.
The deadline for submitting applications is midnight (EST), February 1, 2010.
If you have questions about the requirements for the 2010 TCW, please contact coordinator J. David Brimmer at JdavidBrimmer@aol.com with the subject line “TCW Candidates”. If you are having problems submitting your application, please send an email to web-administrator@safd.org.

If you make a mistake (upload an incorrect file, etc.), you can remove it by clicking on the red X in the file confirmation box that appears after a file upload completes. If you remove a file, you can then upload the correct one.
4. SPT Certificates
Additionally, you need to submit copies of SPT certificates for all eight (8) weapons disciplines. If a certificate contains proof of current status in multiple weapons, you do not need to upload the certificate in every weapons discipline field. You do not need to upload them in both. You can upload either Microsoft® Word (.doc), Adobe® PDF (.pdf), JPEG image (.jpg). No single file can exceed 800kb in size.
5. Additional Training and Education
Additionally, TCW applicants must provide proof of training and education as follows:

This can be included in your CV or you can upload the documentation in the fields that follow in either Microsoft® Word (.doc), Adobe® PDF (.pdf). No Single file may exceed 800kb in size.
6. Recent Video Footage
Recent footage taken of you performing one phrase of your own choreography in Unarmed and Rapier & Dagger. There are two ways to deal with the video requirements for this application process:
- You may link directly to your video at an external web site, such as your own, YouTube, or other freely available video hosting services. This is the preferred method.
- You may upload your video files in either .flv, .mpg, .mp3, or .mpeg formats. IMPORTANT! If you choose to upload your video with your application, each video may not exceed a total size of 20 MB. Attempting to upload a video that exceeds that limit will cause a validation error.
If you are unsure as to how to compress your video to meet the upload requirements, you are strongly encouraged to use YouTube or another external video web site.
