About The Society of American Fight Directors

The Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) is an internationally recognized non-profit organization dedicated to promoting safety and fostering excellence in the art of staged combat. Whether you are a producer, director, actor or teacher, the SAFD can help you pursue and achieve your goals. SAFD members gain access to a world class networking organization, high calibre training, and mentorship to expand your career. Our members include professional actors, directors, producers, educators, dancers, singers, stunt performers, historians, and armorers working in theatre, film, television, all levels of academia, stunt shows, opera, and the video gaming industry.

With annually sponsored, intensive national and regional workshops, the SAFD provides ample opportunities for professional training in a variety of stage combat disciplines, which are offered at premier academic institutions around the nation.
