Ted is an SAFD Certified Teacher and Advanced Actor Combatant, and began studying stage combat with the Society of American Fight Directors in the summer of 1987. He also serves as the Actor
Combatant representative to the SAFD Governing Body.

Ted has directed fights for over 30 productions in professional, college, high school, and community theatres all around the country. He studied with and assisted Dr. Robin McFarquhar (Fight Director and
Certified Teacher with the SAFD) for 3 years while pursuing his MFA in Acting from the University of Illinois. His extensive fight training includes the SAFD’s Teacher Training Workshop, the Fight Director’s Training Workshop and Advanced Actor/Combatant Workshop.

Ted is an award winning Actor, Director, Fight Choreographer, and Teacher, who currently teaches in the BFA program at Western Oregon University and serves as Co-Artistic Director for Salem Repertory Theatre.
