Darrell is currently in his second consecutive year teaching Acting, Stage Combat and Introduction to Theatre at Frostburg State University. He is also the advisor of the Savage Mountain Combat Club, a student organization dedicated to training in Stage Combat and was Director of the 2007 Savage Mountain Summer Arts Academy and Stage Combat Workshop. Regionally he has taught at the first Seattle Sockeye, Rumble in the Rockies and Winter Wonderland Workshop. Professionally, he has acted in Indiana, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Florida, and New York, and has worked in Theatre, Televison, Industrials and Film (look for him being killed in Shot in the Heart, an HBO Production). Credits include Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, and Garry in Noises Off! He has been Movement/Fight Director for The Miracle Worker, Fuddy Meers, Antigone, The Complete Works of Shakespeare, Abridged, Urban Cowboy, The Unsinkable Molly Brown, Comedy of Errors, Man of LaMancha, Othello, I Hate Hamlet, Urinetown, Out to Lunch, Breath Boom, Warboys, Romeo and Juliet, The Rivals, Philadelphia Story, Touch, Love’s Fire, You Can’t Take It With You, and A Soldier’s Play. Darrell serves as Editor of Regional Reports for The Cutting Edge, and has written several articles for both The Cutting Edge and The Fight Master. He holds a BA from Florida State University in Theatre and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University in Movement/Theatre Pedagogy. |
