How do I apply for AC or AAC status?

In order to be designated as an actor combatant, or advanced actor combatant, in addition to remaining a member of the SAFD in good standing, the following additional requirements apply:

Actor Combatant. Awarded to current members of the SAFD who have passed Skills Proficiency Tests (either Basic or Recommended Passes) and maintain a current status in Single Sword or Rapier & Dagger, Unarmed and one additional SAFD weapon discipline.

Advanced Actor Combatant. Awarded to current members of the SAFD who have passed Skills Proficiency Tests and maintain a current status in a minimum of 6 (with at least three being Recommended Passes) of the 8 SAFD weapon disciplines.

Once you have met the minimum requirements listed above, you will need to complete a simple online application form requesting a change in membership designation. You must first log in to your SAFD.org account. You can then access the form at:

Once you have successfully submitted the application, please allow up to fourteen (14) days to allow us to verify, update your records, and respond to your status. Once we have modified your membership status, you will automatically appear in the correct online directory listing.
