The Fight Directors Workshop, and the Actors Ensemble Workshop are celebrating their 17th year! Our students come from all over the USA, as well as from as far away as Germany, Great Britain, and Australia. Emerging, and professional Fight Directors, as well as performers of all ages and experiences join us to explore the "big" scenes in classical and contemporary work. Saint Joan, Cyrano, Romeo, Macbeth, Viola, are examples of what you can expect to explore in the classical vein as Fight Directors and Actors, and Shepard, Mamet, Noonan, Henley (Lucky Spot), Korder (Search and Destroy), Schenkkan (Kentucky Cycle), Norman (Getting Out), and McDonagh (Lonesome West, Pillowman) are but some of the contemporary playwrights you can expect to be challenged by in our workshop. Our staff is on site every minute to help create, coach, and produce scenes of extreme physical excitement! Eight to ten scenes are created in varying styles each workshop, and then blended into a final project and public performance on the last evening of the workshop, open to the public, where the actors take center stage. This is the oldest, and best workshop of it's kind, and hailed as the best small workshop that treats Actors like Actors, and trains Fight Directors for the business as it really is! |
