This issue of The Cutting Edge is choc-o-block with information and reports on doings and transpirings both recent and imminent. The Governing Body met in June, and A/C and Friend Rep Mike Speck gave us a rundown of some of the topics covered during the meeting. Also the posts of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer complete their terms this year. Elections for these positions begin in November. In the Governing Body section we have a rundown of the nominees as well as their statements. Please consider the candidates thoughtfully, and remember that whoever we elect will be the ones steering the society and making decisions on the type issues that Mike discusses in his report.

Also we have  reports from the National Stage Combat Worksop at North Carolina School Of the Arts. Coordinator Mike Mahaffey has graciously given us an overview, and we have recieved more indepth reports on the Basic Actor Combatant Proficiency Workshop, the Advanced Actor Combatant Proficiency Workshop, and the Teacher Certification Workshop. For those of you who've been around awhile, these are the new names for the ACW, the AACW, and the TTW respectively. The Cutting Edge would like to extend a hearty congratulations to our new Certified Teachers.

Once again Fight Master J. Allen Suddeth has once again contributed an exciting and informative feature article, which details his experiments with Bruce Fuller in capturing the amazing visuals that stage combat can create.

Lastly, we have a new section in the Cutting Edge, Links for the Fight Master.  With a new edition of the Fight Master on its way to you, this section contains links and video that compliment articles in the Fight Master.

We're excited to continue to offer you more and more information about the SAFD and Stage Combat. Please continue to keep us informed of your activities through your regional representitive, and remember that we welcome your comments and submissions.
