Stage Combat Workshops are usually 2-3 day events that afford students an opportunity to meet and study with a variety stage combat instructors and learn a variety of stage combat weapons techniques and skills.

Instruction by nationally and internationally recognized experts in the art of stage and screen combat for the . This workshop is geared primarily to those who have an interest in historical and cultural martial techniques. The workshop appeals most to actors, directors, Renaissance Fair actors and historical event re-enactors.  Classes for beginning, intermediate and advanced levels in a wide variety of styles and weaponry.

The Lincoln Assassination Stage Combat Workshop is a weekend of mayhem and fun, learning safe, effective and exciting depictions of violence for stage or screen. You will be taught by six Certified Instructors, as well as two Fight Masters, including SAFD cofounder, David Boushey. This workshop is for actors of all experience levels. The small class size allows for personal instruction and individual attention. By the end of the workshop, participants will have 30 hours of group and individual instruction in Quarterstaff and Smallsword, making them eligible to test for proficiency through the Society of American Fight Directors. Participants will also be eligible to test in Unarmed through Dueling Arts International.  As an added bonus, participants can now earn three hours of college credit when enrolling in this workshop.

Working in conjunction with the Society of American Fight Directors (SAFD) and its’ National Stage Combat Workshop, have created one of the foremost stage combat training programs in the United States. Taught by select members of the SAFD, all Summer Stage Combat classes place emphasis on a non-violent approach to stage violence as well as the actor’s rights and responsibilities when required to perform fight scenes.

MACE (Movement and Combat Education) is proud to present the Winter Wonderland Workshop. The WWW is a stage combat training event held annually in January. Students and instructors come from around the world to share in the most visceral style of acting possible. Sanctioned by the SAFD, the WWW is an event that holds their modalities in the highest respect.
