An actor, director, scholar and Certified Teacher of Stage Combat with the SAFD, Ian teaches at the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. Recent acting credits include Vino Veritas at the Nebraska Repertory Theatre, True West for the Angels Theatre Company and A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as Macbeth for Pigeon Creek Shakespeare. He has directed a myriad of shows, including The Good Doctor, Bloody Poetry and Twelfth Night for the Carson School. His scholarship ranges from ancient Greek and Renaissance theatre to modern theories of performance.
Fight Direction credits extend from theatres in Canada all the way to the Bahamas. Ian is also the founder of the annual Lincoln Assassination Stage Combat Workshop.
Ian has a Master of Fine Arts in Acting and Directing from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a PhD in Theatre Studies from Florida State University.
