Certified Teacher, Theatrical Firearms Instructor
Christopher is an Associate Professor and serves as the Head of the Actor Training Program at the University of Utah. He has worked as an actor, fight director and guest instructor throughout the country. He was an Assistant Professor for four years and the Head of the BFA / MFA Performance Program at the University of Idaho. Academically, he has been a guest instructor at such universities as Stanford University, San Jose State University, Southern Utah University, Southern Oregon University, California Institute of Technology, Chapman University, Pomona College, and California State University Fresno, among others. As both an actor, guest instructor, and fight director, Christopher’s work has been seen at such regional theatres as the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (18 years), Dallas Theatre Center, South Coast Repertory, Sacramento Theatre Company, Laguna Playhouse, Shakespeare Orange County, Utah Shakespeare Festival, Colorado Shakespeare Festival, Syracuse Stage, John Anson Ford Theatre, Will Geer Theatre, Riverside Civic Light Opera, Pioneer Theatre Company, and on a Caribbean cruise. He is a Certified Teacher / Theatrical Firearms Instructor with the Society of American Fight Directors, is recognized as a Master Teacher with Dueling Arts International, holds a 2nd degree Black Belt in Aikido, and is certified as an Associate Teacher of Fitzmaurice Voicework. He holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from California State University, Fullerton and an M.F.A. in Acting from the University of California, Irvine. He is the author of "Stage Combat Arts: An Integrated Approach to Acting, Voice, and Text Work".
